This is one of the really good underrated Thai restaurants here in New York City.

The calamari and the wings were amazing. The beef fried rice and the yellow curry were incredible!

Very good food, especially the tender ribs and the branzino. The vegetable curry didn't taste much like curry and had way too much potato. The waiter was friendly and attentive. The ambiance is nice, the lights are dim. They constantly play loud music so the noise level is high.

Had dinner at Wayla and honestly it was amazing! We kicked things off with some super refreshing drinks, the Ginger Pear and Cucumber Thyme were both perfect for chilling out on a hot night. For starters, the minced impossible meat in lettuce wraps was deliciously surprising and a lighter option that I totally loved. But the standout dish? The Maine lobster with thin rice noodles. The lobster was fresh out of the ocean fresh, and those peanuts tossed in? Chef’s kiss! Ended the night on a sweet note with mango mousse sticky rice that was just the right kind of sweet. The whole meal was a hit. Can’t wait to go back!

Jag blev imponerad så snart jag gick in med dekor och atmosfär. Mest fantastiskt är maten - rik på smak och krydda! Jag tyckte om svamp curry (en av deras dagliga curry special), med en sida av rött ris tillsammans med en special cocktail. Gör en bokning här. . . du kommer inte bli besviken!

Kom hit för brunch med min fru, vi hade ingen reservation men ville sitta utanför och värden var extremt vänlig och tillmötesgående och lyckades göra plats för oss. Stämningen var fantastisk, tjänsten var utmärkt och maten / dryckerna var utsökt. Jag kommer tillbaka och rekommenderar denna plats till vänner.

Jag fick äntligen prova den nu berömda Wayla. Väntan är lång och det är svårt att få en bokning. Vi satt på den bakre gården i en av de hetaste dagarna på sommaren. Du får den verkliga Sydostasien-känslan när du sitter tillbaka här på sådana dagar.

Tyvärr, bortsett från den brinnande värmen, vann inte maten allt heller. De berömda nudelförpackade köttbullarna, även om de var vackra för Instagram, fungerade inte för mig. De smakade bra men den stekt nudlen utanför smakar bokstavligen som råtorkade nudlar för mig. Jag var inte ett fan. Nam prik-tallriket var ganska bra och det skulle jag beställa igen.

Kua kling kung (räkorrätt) var kryddig precis som de varnade. Personligen älskar jag kryddig mat så denna maträtt fungerade verkligen för mig. Inte så mycket för mina vänner. De älskade såsen men kunde inte ta värmen. Varnas.

Biffen var perfekt kokta och mycket trevlig. Likaså krabba stekt ris var också bra. Den andra stora missen var larven stekt fisk. Återigen, presentation - klokt, det var vackert och perfekt för Instagram. Smakvis, det saknades. För det första är skålen kall trots att den är friterad. För det andra har fisken själv ingen smak eller smak. Larven som ligger under fisken är stor så du måste verkligen skopa det hela för att njuta av det. Som sagt, det fiskkropp som lämnats för presentation gör nämnda uppgift svår att utföra.

Wayla verkar som en dold oas i staden (särskilt utomhus på baksidan) Ljudet av staden är helt blockerat och du känner dig transporterad till någonstans tropisk. Kanske är det bara för att jag var där på sommaren. Hur som helst, det här är en av mina favoritrestauranger i New York. Kolla in det! !

Hade en absolut läcker sen lunch med vänner på Wayla. Denna plats är trångt av en anledning! Personalen är händerna på, snabb och kunnig. Vi samplade deras brunch / lunchmeny och blev inte besvikna. Maten är fantastisk och personalen är vänlig, men det är alltför upptagen för sin egen bra. Väntetiderna kan lätt överstiga en timme, och om det regnar alla som äter utomhus blir rörda det, liksom på vintern så kommer det inte att finnas något utomhusutrymme så väntetiderna kan enkelt öka. När alla blir rörda in blir utrymmet alltför högt, alla pratar över varandra, andra står upp för att kunna äta eftersom det inte finns tillräckligt med stolar. Detta är allt ett bra problem att ha när du är en restaurang, men det tillåter inte några intima middagar eller meningsfulla samtal, om inte du hamnar i en monter. Och även det kan inte garanteras beroende på hur många personer som flyttas inuti. Som sagt, maten är riktigt bra här, särskilt deras krabba stekt ris och hummer nudlar. De skimp inte på något och ger dig en hälsosam servering av skaldjur. Utomhusutrymmet är också riktigt söt och välkomnande, med ljus som leder upp i utrymmet. Personalen är tillmötesgående och vänlig, och om du inte har något emot att vänta, rekommenderar jag verkligen att prova denna plats med några vänner snarare än en intim middag. De bör titta på att expandera snart eftersom det bara öppnat men det är helt klart super populärt, det kan bara inte innehålla alla som är intresserade av att äta där.
