Exemplary service from the moment we walked in. We were seated upstairs and it was just so well laid out.

Food was delicious - my dinner companion wanted to try the escargot and we couldn't quite work out how to extract the meat, so one of the amazing wait staff came over and provided a quick tutorial.

Can highly recommend, just make sure you book - these guys fill up fast!

Prices are incredible for what you get - we split the bill down the middle and paid $50each for a started, main and drink.

This place is packed with people day and night! They offer the same menu for lunch and dinner. I've been here once during the day and once at night with different groups. We ordered several different dishes and were very happy with all of them. The staff are all very friendly and nice. Therefore, we would be happy to return.

I have been to the Bouillon several times now. With friends, family and even on my own. Each time I have been warmly welcomed and it has been a real pleasure.
This beautiful place is more than a restaurant, it is a sensory experience, a journey where all the senses are involved - the authentic food, the beautiful decor, the music, and the sounds of people speaking French - it makes the Bouillon a unique and truly authentic experience.

A very authentic and affordable 3 course french meal. The food is hit and miss, which is authentic in itself. The veal sauce was quite sour and the meat a bit dry, but given veal is hard to source in NZ, maybe not surprising. The boeuf bourguignon was nice, though the meat maybe too lean for that dish. Flavour was pretty good. Desserts were nice.
I enjoyed a traditional portion size where you can have the 3 courses and end just full.
Staff is nice and service is fast.
The restaurant is quite loud but again, quite traditional in that way.

Wow. What an incredible experience. If you're after quality food with great/friendly staff and a beautiful atmosphere with insane bang for your buck, this is an amazing option in welly. Friends and I have already discussed what we will order next time. For mains, I had the lamb chops and they were incredible- the mashed potatoes were so heavenly I would have eaten a bowl of that alone. The jus went so well with the lamb chops, I would also recommend soaking duck fat potatoes in the jus. Everyone had a good time, with only high praise to say for every dish. Husband had the Bouilliabasse and said it was awesome, would highly recommend having it with fries. I had the tarte tartin and I am getting emotional just thinking about how great it was. The apple was so soft but firm enough to not be mushy, and was perfectly baked on a delicious buttery crust, not too sweet and served with a vanilla ice cream drizzled with a caramel sauce (I suspected dulce de leche possibly- or a caramel like sauce). The owner was warm and friendly, and it was a delight to meet him, the staff did an incredible job chatting and the vibe of the evening was pleasant. I was also impressed with the price, it was extremely good value for what you got. I wouldn't delay in trying this place out. I will have to try every dish!
