A lovely authentic Mexican restaurant. The decor inside is great, it’s warm and comfortable, you could be in Mexico if the weather was nicer. The food was all very good and tasty and their signature watermelon margaritas are some of the best I’ve ever had.

My only constructive criticism is that we ordered too much food (which we did ask the waitress about) and there was a long gap between courses, so when the main arrived we weren’t really hungry anymore (we heard the table next to us say the same thing).

Anyway, besides that it’s a great spot and well worth a visit.

I remember the drink being remarkably good, the oaxaca sour! The fish tacos and prawns were decent too. The place was buzzing and had a delightful vibe with candles and peppy music!

We were really looking forward to eating a Cavita.

The starters and some of the tacos were  nice. Unfortunately the main (beef), sides (rice and potatoes) and cocktails were  very disappointing. The steak was cooked nicely but was bland, totally lacked flavour and our portion had a lot of fatty bits - a lot.
The rice tasted too cuminy and was cold. The papitas weren’t fully cooked, plus the dressing was tasteless.

We tried 5 or 6 different cocktails and didn’t like any of them! We also tried the 2 desserts available and didn’t love them. A real shame.

Definitely there are many other places to get much better Mexican food in London and at a better price. Cavita is too expensive for what you get in terms of quality, flavours and portion size. We were 4 people and paid about £600.

The service, on the other hand, was excellent.

The food at Cavita was excellent, and beautifully presented. The larger portion of slow cooked pork had plenty of meat, but there was not much protein in the chicken mole. The taste was fabulous though. I also definitely recommend saving room for dessert 😋.

The starters were decent, the grilled prawns were tasty and the crab infladita was nice. But overall there are better places to eat Mexican food in London, this really wasn’t worth the money and we thought it was very expensive for what we got. The mains were ok at best. The fish taco was dry and salty and the mushroom taco was rubbish. One was burnt and the mushroom, which I understand is delicate, had disintegrated and it tasted so burnt it couldn’t be eaten. When I told the waitress she shrugged and instead of addressing it asked if we wanted something else, but did not remove it from the bill or offer to replace it, I got an eye roll. The drinks were being delivered to the wrong tables as was the food and we went for an early dinner so it wasn’t even busy. Would not recommend.
