The best part was the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. Everyone called me by my first name. They genuinely wanted my opinions and actively asked for them and regarded them without judgement. They even asked for my opinion beyond what is your favorite dish. In essence they made you feel like part of a family or at the very least a VIP. The portions were also very hardy and they used locally sourced ingredients. The price is also very cheap for what you are getting and might be one of the cheapest chef tasting in DC. I came here since I had a half off wine pairing secondary to the Smithsonian institute and will easily come again when I visit DC.

My husband and I went to this restaurant on a Sunday after church. Great spot! We had already had a late breakfast, so I really wanted to see what this place was all about with some of the smaller items. Specifically, I love to see what a restaurant can do with their deviled eggs. This is a Michelin star restaurant, so I thought they have to know what they’re doing… And honestly they did :)! I can’t even lie my grandmother makes some amazing deviled eggs, but this place killed it ❤️. Additionally, my husbands Croque Madame was absolutely delicious. It was so flavorful, and he said it was the best thing he ever had, it was his first time ever having it. This is a farm to table restaurant so as you order, they are preparing things in the moment and it’s from locally sourced Farms. You can see which farms they source other items from on the back of the menu I took a photo of. And please do order the pomegranate ginger mimosa it is absolutely Fye Fye 🔥. The service at this restaurant was amazing, we weren’t going to eat here at first, but I needed to use the restroom and as I was in the restroom my husband was talking to the servers and he like them so much. He said we should eat here. They did not disappoint. We had an amazing mail server. He was a wealth of knowledge, and extremely professional which was great. I will say the only thing I regret was not getting the buttermilk chicken, it takes 30 minutes to bake and unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to order that but we will be coming back here soon.

After living Navy Yard for several a years I finally came here for dinner & wish I came sooner. The staff were so incredibly lovely. Food was great and the wine list was good. Will definitely be heading back soon to try cocktails.

Av en slump kom vi under restaurangveckan så vi hade en vanlig meny och restaurangveckans meny. Det var lite överlappning. Men resultaten var desamma. För dyrt och tar ut en serviceavgift på 22 % (likströmslagen tillåter 20 %), vilket avskräcker från all dricks. Frukost burrito var en enda röra. Shell innehöll mosade svarta bönor och var en föga tilltalande wrap. Enorma köttbitar och tunt skal gjorde det svårt att äta. Djävulsägg var bra, men tre halvor för $ 12 var rik.

De har inte bara den underbara kopptäckta vedeldade ugnen, de har också en vedeldande grill som står för några av de mest underbara smaker du kan föreställa dig. Fantastisk ”old school” -musik på precis rätt nivå för atmosfär och trevlig konversation - något som många platser inte får rätt.

 Vi två hade en trevlig mängd mat att dela med vintern squash, biff och stekt vaktel (perfekt utbenat och så fuktigt men skarpt). Vi var frestade men beställde inte efterrätt. Men kock Reid förde oss två bedårande röd sammet, pepparmint whoopie pajer. Jag visste inte vad en whoopie paj var, och nu vet jag inte hur jag någonsin levde utan dem. Vi ser fram emot att återvända och se vilka spännande rätter som visas på den alltid kreativa menyn.

 - Som vegetarian var det mycket av mig att äta. Tro mig, jag var en del av ren plattsklubben. Skaldjursfat, Maryland Crab cake, tjocka frites (min kryptonit), deviled ägg (jag tog av skinkan) och så mycket mer. Tjänsten är effektiv, vänlig och personalen var mycket kunnig.
 - High West Whisky. Hade en läcker Whiskysur - mycket bättre än jag minns från mina college dagar! Otrolig bartender som verkligen har seriös talang!

Åh och desserterna - på allvar. Jag hade sagt "INGEN MER" när fyra desserter kom ut. Naturligtvis provade jag var och en.

Vilket underbart utrymme. Ser fram emot att återvända snart - med min fantastiska fästman, som är en duktig kock och restaurangägare.

Jag satt vid köksbänken och det var riktigt kul att se de olika rätterna komma ut ur köket. När jag påpekade den väldigt coola ugnen till min vän kom ägaren Ried Shilling och förklarade ugns ursprung. Du kan säga att han är väldigt upphetsad över maten han serverar. Och maten var utsökt. Havskatt toast var mycket smakrikt. Min vän älskade hennes Rockfish och jag älskade min anka confit. Den bästa delen av kvällen var gratis mini whoopie paj. Dessa var äkta Amish whoopie pajer som jag normalt bara får från Amish i PA. Jag kommer definitivt tillbaka!

Vi har varit tillbaka hit sedan vi kom direkt efter att platsen öppnades. Vi tyckte att det var lovande vid det första besöket, och vi hade rätt. Rätter är kreativa och många är extraordinära. Du stannar bara och undrar smaken. Tjänsten har fått sin ursprungliga tentativitet, och den matchar nu maten. Första klass runt. Detta kan vara den bästa restaurangen i området.

Underbar mat - kreativa kombinationer av smaker och texturer, perfekt förberedda och presenterade, med en "gård-till-bord" -strategi som betonar färska ingredienser. Det har gått länge sedan jag vågade beställa från en rå bar och erbjudandet här påminner mig varför jag brukade äta rå ostron i New Orleans. . . men såserna är mycket mer intressanta (och hälsosamma). Kocken gör gourmet med komfortmat, med accenter av kanderade nötter och frön och kryddiga blommor, och ändå är ingenting överarbetat. Bekväma sittplatser och belysning, och jag älskar "oldies" -musiken. Detta är en ungdomlig atmosfär med en aktiv bar, men du kan höra dina middagskamrater för konversation. Första gången jag var där hade de precis öppnat och tjänsten utmanades, men de verkar slå sin takt och servrarna är till hjälp och nu. Det är inte billigt men inte skandalöst och väl värt kostnaden för sådan utmärkt mat.
