Fantastic restaurant, one of the best I’ve ever tried. The place itself is beautiful with an open kitchen and taste in decoration. The service is excellent. And the food is unique, very tasty and varied. Highly recommend for any food lover (not only vegans)!

OK, so I'm fussy. I live in London with some of the best restaurants in the world and an amazing vegan food scene, so I'm kind of picky about where I go for food.

Having had two average but expensive dinners elsewhere in Stavanger, I chose Bellies for my last night. It was perfect. Absolutely everything about it was exactly to my taste.

I will also say, there are two types of restaurants for solo diners. Those that shove you in a corner and forget about you, and those that make you feel special. Bellies was definitely the latter. No corner table by the toilets for me!!

The service was super friendly and attentive, with the staff chatting to me throughout and clear explanations of each dish.

Then the food. Truly amazing. Three small snacks to start, each more delicious than the one before. Then savour dishes, well balanced and all the ingredients tasted so fresh. The deserts blew my mind a bit, especially the popcorn and black sesame ice cream ball.

The paired wines were really good (I didn't love the natural wine), especially the norwegian dessert wine.

I'll finish with, it's just under 2 hours from London to Stavanger and I'd consider flying in just to go to Bellies again. Head and shoulder above anywhere else I tried in Stavanger.

One of the BEST restaurant we have eaten at - the 9 course meal was fingerlicking good, and the dishes were made of fresh ingredients. Moreover, the restaurant was very good about accommodating our food restrictions and gave us completely different dishes for multiple courses.
Towards the end, the restaurant even gave us extra course because we just loved the food so much and jokingly said we could keep eating.
Would go back to Stavanger for this restaurant.

So glad our friend Gunhild booked for us to experience this amazing place. Everything was just exceptionally good and spot on. Congrats to the young guys that runs this place. This is a must go place if you in Stavanger.
