Interesting selection of food. Tasty dishes and beautiful serving.
Also were pleased that they changed meat dishes with seafood once, because of allergy.

We enjoyed lunch at the one Michelin star Etxanobe in Bilbao. I have been searching for good Scallops, which are not readily available where we live in the Algarve. The good news is they are everywhere in the Basque region thanks to the cooler waters of the north. We shared the grilled local scallops which were excellent, Chicken Cannelloni, Halibut, and grilled asparagus. The meal was well prepared and presented, service was attentive and prompt, and the restaurant was inviting and comfortable.

Aesthetically the restaurant is beautiful.

We got the gastronomic menu and were particularly impressed by the hake and the beef rib - both being truly wonderful dishes. The rice with octopus was disappointing.

The playlist should be urgently changed. 4 tables all foreigners with two young waiters doing their best but to my taste there were too many show elements e.g twice live cooking at the table and the "relaxing"masque experience. Good savory dishes (best one was pork dish with shrimps and the daily main course which was red mullet) the desserts need more attention and lack taste and I would skip the three of them. I liked that water was included as well as the coffee also nice gesture that the Chef greated each table....

Phenomenal Michelin starred restaurant here in Bilbao.  An absolute must-do!  The plates were both delicate and yet the flavors were intense.  Some of the combinations were very different but they worked extremely well!  Some of my favorite dishes were the white garlic soup, the squid (which was cooked to perfection), the manitas de cerdo (pork) and then a surprise VR experience with one of the desserts!  Can't say enough good things about this restaurant!  And the chef came out at the end and presented me with a signed copy of his book!  Amazing!
