Exceptional dining experience! The tasting menu, which changes daily, was nothing short of extraordinary. Anthony guided us through every course, showcasing creativity and decadence at its finest. Arriving at 1 PM without a reservation, we did have to wait an hour for a table, but it was well worth it. Highly recommend planning ahead to enjoy this culinary adventure.

Okay so if you think $100 dollars per person is worth spending for food that won’t change your life then this is a great option for you. If you don’t care about money, then it’s totally fine. If pricing matters to you, then you’re going to leave unhappy. It’s just too expensive for what you get in my opinion.
Now onto the dishes:
The scallop had a different texture to what I’m used to, it was tougher and less flavorful, but it didn’t feel like it was bad quality, just that it was different from the more common type of scallop. Unfortunately I would prefer the common type of scallop, soft and flavorful, so I mostly regret ordering this dish (again, it’s $40 dollars for a scallop starter so it should be really really special to justify the price).
Everything else was really tasty, great flavors. Again, if you don’t care about the price then sure it’s a great dinner you’ll have. The lamb birria taco was really tasty. The quail was also really flavorful and very special, a surprising dish in the best way! I think this was the only dish that would justify the price. The tongue was a bit contradictory for me, while the tongue itself was the best tongue I’ve ever had (the texture was insane) the dish as a whole lacked acidity and contrast. We tried ordering salsa verde to counterbalance the flavor but it never came. It’s too many bases in one dish and nothing that pops out, no highs.
Well, yeah overall we regret coming but mostly because we’re not rich enough to spend this much money in something that we will NOT remember for years to come.

We went to several incredible Michelin star restaurants during our trip to Mexico City, but, in the end, Maximo was our favorite meal of the whole weekend.

The design of the restaurant is such a vibe and the food was really next level. We had a 7:15 reservation on Saturday night and were taken to our booth at the back of the restaurant upon arrival. My husband ordered the espresso martini based on online reviews and I ordered my standard drink, tequila neat. He said that the martini was perfectly made and I was surprised and delighted that my tequila came with a side of fresh homemade sangrita.

For food, we ordered a bunch of things to share. Everything looked good but we ended up with the roasted beets, tuna and kampachi sashimi, roasted leeks, tagliatelle with oxtail ragu, sweet potato and ricotta agnolotti, roasted chicken and the filet. I legitimately cannot choose a favorite bite because each dish was as good as the next. For dessert we had the French toast and the truffle ice cream. The only dish I would comfortably say you could pass on is the truffle ice cream. It was creamy and delicious but didn’t taste much like truffle.

Make a reservation at Máximo asap, I promise you won’t regret it!

The food was incredible. Of all the upscale restaurants we went to on our trip, this was definitely the best one.

I forget what we ordered but everything was amazing. Like it knocked my socks off good 😂.

Cocktails were ok. Nothing too special.

Service was great. Loved the atmosphere.

We went here to celebrate my birthday today and were very pleased with our experience. We ordered Iberian ham, sunchoke soup, oxtail ragu, the spinach ravioli with lobster and madeleine cookies. For drinks we had the pink pepper sour, and a negroni. I also received an additional dessert for my birthday. The food was very tasty and we enjoyed each course, but were not blown away. The ambiance was great and the service was fantastic. I would recommend to my friends!
