While I was excited to try their vegetarian menu and go to acclaimed Mexican restaurant, I left disappointed. I thought the starters were good, but the entrees (especially the enchiladas) were completely overwhelmed by the sauce. The mole became one note as you then can’t taste anything else on the plate. That dish, along with the high prices, made for an average dining experience overall. The other dishes were better, but nothing stood out as a showstopper or reason for me to return to try other items on the menu. Service was great and the location is situated in the heart of Chicago… but the food left me wanting more.

One of my favorite Rick Bayless restaurants, the food is always a hit. I ordered appetizers, entrees and drinks and everything was UH-AMAZING. The staff is so kind and attentive. I always come here to celebrate my family’s birthday, graduations etc. Literally one of the best restaurants in Chicago.

One of the best meals I've had in a long time. The three course lunch menu was phenomenal food at a good price and the portions were incredibly generous. Also very interesting flavors - not your standard Mexican fare. Absolutely a must-do when in Chicago!

The food was pretty good and the service was fast but it seemed almost like a factory - no one was particularly warm or friendly, like robots dropping off food that was sitting in the back ready to be plated. The enchiladas de chilorio were very tasty. The mole negro short rib was disappointing. We also had a weird incident where they had our credit card for 15 minutes and when we got home we saw they charged us for the wrong amount. When I called they seemed aware and said they ran the wrong bill and had already fixed it but no one mentioned it at the restaurant and they weren't at all apologetic when I called and treated it as an annoyance.

I plan on visiting Oaxaca one day just for the mole sauce so when I found a place that specializes in real mole sauce, an Oaxaca Mexican restaurant near the hotel, no way I was leaving the city without hitting it. I found it on the Michelin guide. Apparently it has a star. I got the Puebla Style enchiladas, classic mole dish. It was outstanding. Real mole sauce is time consuming to make and has lots of ingredients. It was the best I've had. The chicken was tender and the house made tortillas were delicious. The bits of nuts and seeds they sprinkle on top were a great touch. It's not a huge dish so I'd get the chips and salsa for $6 to make sure you leave full.

På min mans 50-årsdag ville han bara äta på Rick Bayless Frontera Grill i Chicago. Han har sett och beundrat Mr Bayless i flera år och så fick vi det att hända, första gången till Chicago. Värd var varm och Välkomnande, och vi satt snabbt. Vår server var informativ och hjälpsam, och fick oss den vegetariska menyn som de har, vilket var fantastiskt. Vi fick appar och drinkar och alla kom ut i tid och smakade fantastiskt. Vi beställde de gröna enchiladas och mullvadsenchiladas samt chokladpekannötspajen. Maten var allt exceptionellt. Verkligen en av de bästa måltiderna i våra liv.
